Dogs must be at least eighteen (18) months of age on the day of the trial in which the dog is to compete.

Are there provisions for dogs and/or handlers with physical challenges or mobility issues?

CARO allows for reasonable modifications to courses, stations and exercises to accommodate limitation faced by both handlers and dogs.  When registering for a trial, the handler must describe the limitation and specify what they suggest would be a reasonable accommodation.  All accommodations must maintain the overall flow of the course.

Examples:

Elderly dogs with mobility constraints – possibly a reduced number of sits and downs, of a lower jump height

Handlers with balance issues –

How many qualifying runs do I need to earn a title?

A base title for each Rally level requires 3 qualifying runs under at least 2 different judges.

In Working, two base titles can be earned at each level.  The first is awarded after 3 qualifying scores are earned under two different judges in each of 5 different exercises.  The second is awarded when 3 qualifying scores are earned under two different judges in all 10 exercises.
